US Citizenship

After a long, hard struggle - Sheila became a US Citizen in West Palm Beach, on October 10th. (10/10/07).  There were two exciting extras that occured at the Ceremony.   First of all, we were told that this was the highest number of 'new Citizens' to be sworn in EVER in West Palm Beach.   211 people, from 39 countries were each told to rise from their chairs, as their country was called out.  The United Kingdom was number 38 - that was me, of-course!The second wonderful part of this day was that with all the friends and relatives present, there were probably 500 people in all and I asked permission when I arrived, to sing the US National Anthem.  They eventually 'OK'd it and I sang, loud and clear with a good memory (thank God) for the lyrics!    Dressed in a pale blue and white suit and holding a red rose and 'Old Glory' - it was the icing on the cake for me.... Citizen Darcy!
